Summary

In Chapter 9, Frank goes to his psychiatrist. Alice waits with Mimi in the waiting room. The psychiatrist asks Mimi about her bruises, but she lies about the cause saying that it is not of the psychiatrist’s business. When he comes out, Frank tells his mother that Xander was one of the things he talked about during the session.

In August, Alice and Frank go to some of the places he used to go to with his mother. Alice agrees on the condition that she can hold his hand without him taking hers first. He agrees because she tells him that she gets scared at times.
