Summary

In "The Giant of Sarrià," Amy moved to Barcelona after falling in love with Pol when she was 21. "Within a year," she was pregnant (1). Six months after her daughter Mar's birth, Amy and Pol "split up" (1). Though Amy was from England, she decided to stay in Barcelona. When Mar was a teenager, Amy used her "small inheritance" open a gift shop called Trinket (2). Now Mar was attending university in England. Amy was still running Trinket.

Eighteen months after moving into her apartment in Sarrià, Amy woke to "the sound of someone crying" (3). She went outside to investigate, discovering a young man crouched in the car park. Guessing he was Moroccan because the "city was full of Moroccans," she spoke to him in French (5). The man asked for help. Amy led him to her apartment and made him some tea...
