Summary

“Autobiography of Red: A Romance,” Part 7, pages 88 - 104 - “Slopes”: The single line at the beginning of this section suggests that Geryon could be very charming, even though he was a monster. Narration then describes how Geryon and the yellowbeard ride uncomfortably in a taxi to where the yellowbeard is to give his presentation, a large, poorly kept building that the yellowbeard says is an abandoned cigarette factory. As Geryon goes in and makes his way to where the lecture is to be given, he notes the discarded cigarette butts all over the floors and the disorganization of the desks in the lecture hall. The yellowbeard lectures at length, referring frequently to the ideas and teachings of other philosophers and questioning them all, suggesting that what they are saying is the opposite of what is actually true.
