Summary

In Chapter 31, B. returns to Barassini’s office for another session. Under hypnosis, B. thinks of the old comedy duo Abbott and Costello, who are having a conversation about another comedy duo: Mudd and Molloy. B. realizes that Mudd and Molloy are characters from Ingo’s film, so this must be a scene from the film. Abbott and Costello are worried that Mudd and Molloy will surpass them in popularity, so they consider plans to have Mudd and Molloy killed.

In Chapter 32, B. feels sad between sessions. He wants to be in the world of Ingo’s film, not in the real world. He soon returns for another session, and he remembers a scene from the film that takes place during the 1969 moon landing. In the scene, while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are on the moon, astronaut Michael Collins waits in the spacecraft...
