Summary

In Chapter 30, Jack tries to convince himself that it does not matter if Hazel is getting married. He spends his time in this chapter trying to find a job. He is not having any success because many people have lost jobs and there are none available. He remembers that he promised Hazel not to steal any more bodies until the kidnapper is found, but he reasons that she does not know what hunger is like.
