Summary

In Chapter 1, Quinn comes home early from a trip to surprise her fiancé, Ethan Van Kemp, with dinner. In the hallway in front of Ethan’s apartment, a man is pacing. He claims that his girlfriend and Ethan are having sex inside Ethan’s apartment. Quinn hears a woman in the apartment screaming Ethan’s name, a sound that confirms the man’s claim.

The man, Graham Wells, tries to console Quinn when she feels dizzy. She sits on the floor, and Graham sits beside her. Quinn asks if they should use her key to open the door and confront Ethan and Sasha, Graham’s girlfriend. Graham says he needs to calm down first. Quinn groans when she thinks about how her mother will react when she learns the wedding is off.
