Summary

In Chapter 8, once they get into the apartment, Piper, who believes in the Al Capone method, tells Moose to give everyone a job because it will make them loyal to him. Moose looks at what is left of his burned out room before he moves on to the kitchen. The only thing of significance they find is a hatbox that Janet Trixle used as a pixie house. It is at this point that Darby comes into the apartment to see who is there. He tells the children the only people who should be there are the members of the task force assigned to investigate the fire. The children do not show Darby the pixie house.
