Summary

In Chapter 48, Brody shows Claire how to move through worlds. Claire uses the power of the necklace to attract other elders - Eaters like Edmund and Isabella who had lived for centuries.

In Chapter 49, once the others are coming towards them, Claire propels herself and Brody into another world where they see the moment that Edmund betrayed Isabella and tried to kill her. The elders followed them into this world and so Claire jumps worlds again. This time they see Edmund whispering to a woman, like he whispered to Simon, to get her to kill her son. They realize that these are Edmund's memories. They continue to travel through them and each one is filled with death and murder that Edmund instigated. They reach the final memory in the necklace and Claire realizes that after this, there is only Edmund himself.
