Summary

Linda is away with her husband in Chapter 53. They have gone to Interlaken where they had also gone to early in their relationship when her husband had run a marathon. Before dinner, her husband gets drunk and begins talking about his regrets. When the waitress refuses to serve them more drinks, they go for a walk and encounter a group of teenagers. When her husband approaches them and invites them to have a drink, Linda has to pull him away. She notes that their roles have switched. They go to the restaurant where they had first said they loved each other and have a depressing dinner even though the setting is beautiful.

It is the next morning, in Chapter 54. Linda slept well and wakes up first. She looks outside the window and sees paragliders. When breakfast arrives, she does something that she has...
