Summary

In Part 2, Chapter 12, Andrei spends time with Sergei, who is a member of Andrei’s hockey team, as well as a member of October. Sergei spends most of his time teaching classes on literature and politics for free. Sergei hopes his work will help to contribute to social and political reform in Russia. Andrei writes an article about Sergei’s work and submits it to the Slavic Review. Meanwhile, Dima continues to assert that they should sell Seva’s apartment. Dima adds that they will use part of the money for new housing and a nurse for Seva. Andrei continues to resist.
