Mia Winchell

Mia is an eighth grader during this story and has lived most of her life with a secret. When she was in the third grade, she discovered that other people didn't see the colors and shapes that she sees when she hears and sees sounds, letters, and numbers. When she talks about the colors, someone in the class calls her a freak and she soon realizes that she sees something that other people don't see. She hides her secret but knows that her life would be empty without this. An important part of Mia's character is that she keeps this a secret.
