Summary

In Chapter 28, Kenzie drives Lydia and Bristal to the prison to visit Dover. Kenzie and Bristal argue the whole way, and Lydia tries to keep the peace. When they arrive, Kenzie stays in the car. Bristal starts out the interview by asking Dover to tell them about the tornado. However, Lydia hijacks the interview and implies that Dover might have killed Denise and starts asking him questions about Denise and the dog he supposedly lost during the tornado. Dover denies any wrongdoing and reveals that he was childhood best friends with Lydia’s dad, who is now his lawyer. He also reveals that he is in jail for aggravated assault on his ex-girlfriend.

In Chapter 29, Lydia and Bristal leave the prison and argue. Bristal is upset that Lydia implied her uncle was a killer and suggests that maybe Lydia’s dad is the...
