Summary

The narrator returns to 1995 where Morty’s boyfriend Soren and Morty were arguing over a gift. Soren had given Morty a tie that the latter hated. Tommy made lunch hoping to calm them. The time then skips forward to Soren’s official move-in day. Tommy moved her room to the basement and Morty rejected Seren‘s plan to move to the city. Morty began having many parties, which Tommy visited her father and brother during. However, Morty‘s mother began to get sicker. Tommy wanted to move to San Francisco, but waited two years until his mother’s death. Morty wrote the Inseparables, a story about kids with cancer. After his mother passed away, however, they learned that Soren had been diagnosed with AIDS. As his sickness worsened, he told Tommy he believed she never liked him and he harassed her. When...
