Summary

In Chapter 27, Daniel comes into the bedroom and Chloe hides the necklace before he can see that she found it. He asks her how to turn the alarm off, and then says he had a long day on the road after his conference and is going to take a shower.

In Chapter 28, Lacey passes out from taking many pills and wakes up to find the necklace is gone. She tries to figure out if Daniel could have killed Aubrey and Lacey. She remembers that the police said Lacey had Diazepam in her system, and Daniel carries that drug with him as a pharmacy rep. He also travels widely for work, so he would have opportunity for the crimes. Daniel brings her breakfast in bed and tells her he has special plans for them.
