Summary

In Chapter 20, At Tracey’s house, Gamache and the other officers discovered that Tracey had thrown away all of Vivienne’s belongings. Tracey said it was because she did not need them anymore but Gamache reminded him that he had not been back to his house since they found Vivienne’s body. There was no way for him to know she was dead when he threw the things away unless he had been the one who killed her. Tracey had also cleaned the house with bleach.

In Chapter 21, Beauvoir told Gamache that the rotten railing on the old bridge had been broken from the inside out indicating Vivienne had been pushed or fallen from the bridge.
