John Ritch

John Ritch is the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Organization in Vienna, Austria, which includes the International Atomic Energy Agency. In the following viewpoint, he contends that nuclear power is the only realistic method by which the growing global demand for energy can be met without releasing greenhouse gases to the world’s atmosphere and risking global warming. In addition, he argues that nuclear energy makes much less pollution than the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil. He concludes that nuclear energy must be utilized to a greater extent.
