One can hardly pick up a newspaper today without encountering the latest reports about Dr. Kevorkian's assisted suicide antics. One can also be sure to detect a "media" bias and abhorrence of various facets of suicide. Although why this should be so in our modern and so-called Judeo-Christian culture should be the larger question.

After all, other than the general biblical admonition that "Thou shalt not kill," euthanasia and "suicide" are nowhere condemned, proscribed, nor censured in that holy book. Because many consider the Bible to be the source of all morality and law, the oversight is certainly significant. Instead, the Bible treats the many suicides found within as honorable acts, and always preferable to the alternatives.
