Marijuana is a harmful and addictive drug. The short-term effects of marijuana use include memory loss, anxiety, and a decrease in cognitive and motor skills; long-term consequences include a weakened immune system and an increased risk of cancer, respiratory diseases, and heart problems. Marijuana smokers are also more likely to take other illegal drugs such as cocaine and heroin than are non-marijuana users.
