Kenneth R. Miller

About the author: Kenneth R. Miller, a recipient of numerous awards for outstanding teaching, is a cell biologist, a professor of biology at Brown University, and the co-author of widely used high school and college biology textbooks. He is a regular contributor to scientific journals and magazines, including Nature, Scientific American, and Cell.

Religion has been forced to alter and modify its view of God to conform to the tenets of biological evolution. Therefore creationists feel compelled to attack evolutionary theory in order to free the Creator from its shackles. However, religion in general and God in particular need not be subordinated to the findings of evolutionary biology. Rather, evolution provides a much more meaningful and poignant explanation of the relationship of the Creator to his creation.
