Georgie Binks began flirting with self-starvation and anorexia in her late teens. In the following selection, she describes her addiction to self-starvation and how she derives a strong sense of power from it. Binks relates that as she starves herself she becomes overwhelmed with euphoria and feels good about her body. While she acknowledges that the behavior can be dangerous and even lifethreatening, she argues that she has always been able to control her eating disorder before it became a serious problem.
