Effluent water purification method depends on quantity[volume] as well as purposes for the recycling.

However there are three methods:

1.Physical.If volume is small, heat to boiling temp of 100degrees centigrade for 1 hour then cool down and filter using a clean white cotton. If the volume is much, then build a soil gradient with a reservoir at the bottom and allow your effluent to pass through this soil gradient. The reservoir under will contain clean water.

2.Biological.Certain bacteria from e.coli family as well as algae are known to be purifiers of dirty water.Japan currently market such water cleansers as water guard attached to taps at home.

3.Chemical.Alum of potassium salt has always been used in water purifications for decades.Ammonium chlorate will precipitate as the result of the proceusre adsorping to potassium manganese complex at the bottom of the effluent water. Then the water is filtered to get rid of this alum complex.
