Ismail is the nine-year-old son of Sinan. He is attractive, bright and a good soccer player. Ismail is the object of his parents' unconditional affection and can do no wrong in their eyes. In return, Ismail is an obedient son who is respectful of his parents and does not complain, even when it means that he will face physical pain — as in his circumcision ceremony.
