Comment on Seasons Changing Sermon

At church, the Reverend Kinnell delivers a sermon about seasons changing, which in turn symbolizes the changes in Annabelle’s own life. Annabelle is just beginning the transition between childhood and what will be her teenage years, in turn leading to adulthood. Annabelle’s age is not the only thing that changes, as her experiences with Betty and Toby force her to confront the darker side of human life, between war and Betty’s cruelty.
