Comment on the theme of love and obsession.

Hitchcock notes that romantic love and obsession are two sides of the same coin. Scottie starts his job following Madeline and quickly becomes obsessed with her. His obsession becomes a sense of control over women. Scottie is in fact angry because another man controlled Judy before he got to control him.
