As an obvious gun expert, author Ross spends an inordinate amount of his writing discussing details of specific types of guns such as pistols, shotguns, automatic weapons, handheld cannons, and ammunition for all of these. Such detail makes it difficult for the average non-gun expert to maintain interest in such technical descriptions and language, but it is possibly necessary in order to lend credibility to the characters and their expertise with weaponry.
