The Evil Queen tells the twins that she was once an orphan named Evly. The people that raised her were kind, and she grew up being beautiful and feeling loved. She fell in love with a man named Mira who was a poet, and on the day before their wedding, an evil enchantress killed Evly's adopted parents and kidnapped her. The enchantress had a plan that Evly would marry the Prince Charming of the Northern Kingdom, and that she (the enchantress) would rule through Evly. Evly did not want to do this, as she was in love with Mira, and the enchantress imprisoned her.
