D'Artagnan from The Vicomte de Bragelonne, is one of the original musketeers. Unlike the others, he has not retired and is still serving in much the same capacity. He has remained loyal to Louis XIV, but in the end makes a deal for Charles II to be put back on the English throne. He dies shortly after being made marshal of France.
