Why doesn't Genji want his son, Yugiri to advance in rank? What does Genji do?

Genji believes that his son, Yugiri is not worthy of the advancement suggested by the Emporer. He does not wish to see his son receive these unworthy promotions. He decides to send Yugiri to the University in order to expand his mind. He wishes for Yugiri to become a worthy minister some day.
