Why does the Lieutenant change his mind about marrying Ukifune?

Ukifune and Lieutenant seem to have a successful match; however the lieutenant finds that Ukifune is in fact the governor's stepdaughter. He is turned off by this fact and wishes to marry the governor's actual daughter instead. Upon hearing this the governor is delighted and helps the lieutenant to marry his real daughter.
