The eulogy, given by Nakita Poole, who is now a doctor, is important because of Nikita's story and relationship to the judge. Nakita grew up in a troubled family, with whom, the Judge had gotten to know and had taken an interest in. The Judge played a major role in Nakita's acceptance to Yale, and he specifically noted how much he would miss their friendship. This example illustrates the Judge's caring, generous nature.... the fact that he didn't leave his job at the door after hours.
