How does Philippa Gregory use imagery in The Other Boleyn Girl?

Gregory uses fashion to illustrate the different personality traits of Henry's women. Jane Seymour chooses the unflattering gable hood headdress, traditional amongst English woman to set herself apart from Anne. Jane uses modesty, as opposed to her cousin's sexuality, in order to lure the king away from his wife..... a bit contradictory, but it worked.
