Gabriel “Gabe” Cross is a Blackfeet Native American. He was one of the four members of the hunting group that illegally shot elk in a restricted area. Unlike Lewis and Ricky, Gabe continued to live on the reservation after that event. Gabe’s personality is described as somewhat reckless and irresponsible. He is unmarried, but he has a daughter named Denorah. Denorah is mostly raised by her mother, but Gabriel occasionally spends time with her. The elk spirit eventually manipulates Gabe into killing Cassidy. (The elk spirit uses illusions to make it look like Cassidy killed Denorah.) Gabe, out of guilt and knowledge of repercussions, then kills himself.
