The story is written in a very straightforward, informal style. This makes it much easier for a reader to become engrossed in the story, the plot and the subplots. However, it should be noted that the language is modern and is not in keeping with what would be expected of the time and place. The author seems to have chosen a less restrictive writing style in order to engage the reader, and the author achieves this aim. The quotes and language are acceptable and consistent.
