The book is written in an objective style. For the most part, Chernow relates the facts without interjecting his own opinions. The only time that his opinions come through is in Lamont's dealing with the Nazis and his blindness to what is happening. The only other place his opinions might be said to come through is in the discussion of leveraged buyouts and the effect they have on the firms. The cost of taking a company private is tremendous for the company because it leaves them with a huge amount of debt.
