When Raphael approached Walter about the Hotel Caiette, he was living in a carmped one-bedroom apartment that was the most depressing place that Walter had ever seen. In addition, two months ago, the ballet dancer Walter was engaged to broke their engagement. So he was ready to move on and take a job at the Hotel Caiette.
