Love plays a role in the story in many different ways. The very first show of love seen in the story is by a young orphan boy named Keith. Keith is willing to go into underground tunnels where he knows there are monsters. Keith goes there in the hopes of finding his mother. Although this doesn't have much to do with the story of Superman and Doomsday it shows the reader the profound effect that love can have on a character.
