Who is General Andre Franois Villiers from The Bourne Identity?

Villiers, a retired French general, served during the Algerian war. He runs for the National Assemby and is elected shorty after his son is murdered by Carlos. Later, he finds out that his wife is not only Carlos' cousin, but his lover as well. In response to his discovery, he kills his wife.
