Lou Ornstein is an American philosopher visiting Scotland in the story, The Two Philosophers. When Lou and his Scottish colleague argue the same philosophical points they argue about every time they meet, they are goaded into a fistfight to settle the issue. After Lou punches his friend, he is surprised to discover that he has a knack for fighting, and likes it.
