Ms. Karp has been helping Lissa and Rose for a while, since she alone understands Lissa's element, spirit. She helps them cover up the crows resurrection, and she also helps the girls stay out of trouble with the administration from time to time. However, the girls are shocked to find out that she's become Strigoi and left the school. Later, they discover that Ms. Karp did this because she could no longer control the dark compulsions that come with the use of her power.
