How does Stephen King use imagery in Roadwork?

King uses detailed imagery to convey Bart's breakdown, complete with arguing personalities in his head, one for peace and restraint and the other for vengeance and defiance. As a result, the reader can feel the way in which Bart slowly shuts down.
