John Andrews is the field scout with the S.T.A.R.S. Exeter branch. He is six feet tall and muscular. He goes on the mission to Caliban Cove where he is devastated that Karen is infected by the virus. Steve shoots John at Dr. Griffith's orders, but John manages to survive the shot and the grenade explosion, swimming to the surface where he is found by the Philadelphia S.T.A.R.S. that Barry sent to rescue David's team. The novel ends with John in stable condition, and the medic believes that he will make a full recovery.
