The novel is divided in 21 chapters and covers multiple storylines. One of the most prominent structural elements of the novel is that it is divided into two separate story tracks. Specifically, there is the Quichotte-centric storyline and the Brother-centric storyline. In the overall scope of the novel, Brother’s storyline is a frame narrative for Quichotte’s story, as Quichotte’s story is presented as a novel being written by Brother. Thus, Quichotte and all related characters occupy a narrative space that is technically contained within Brother’s imagination. Meanwhile, the characters of Brother, Sister, Son, and Daughter occupy their own world, which is much more grounded in realistic dynamics.
