Shavian plays, such as Pygmalion, have characteristics that make them such. One major characteristic is that there is an ongoing discussion, usually in a witty or humorous way, about the human condition. This is applied aptly and heavily throughout the play in that the main character, Eliza, goes from one extreme to another in her development.
