Helen Flight was an English woman, who hunted, killed, and painted birds. Mrs. Anne Hall was her closest friend. Helen joined the brides program as a way to research and capture birds in the wild. She later became an honored member of the Cheyenne when she skillfully painted the warriors' medicine birds on their bodies, something the Cheyenne belied gave them power. As a result, she was held in high esteem by the tribe. Helen is described as a masculine woman. She was married to Mr. Hog.
