In my opinion, King writes for money. All writers do. In the chapter, C.V., King was a young man with little money who used writing to eliminate the financial hardships of his family. However, King makes the case for writing being more than just writing for money. He believes it is a passion that the writer cannot do without. A writer must write. King wrote his whole life. His frustration with not being published, his efforts to improve his writing, and his dedication, demonstrate his passion as well as his efforts at succeeding at his job.
