Next to Normal, renowned rock musical, revolves around the Goodman family which is struggling with mother Diana’s intensifying bipolar disorder and hallucinations of long dead son Gabe. Diana doesn’t want to turn loose of the memory of her son even though it is hurting her marriage to Dan and making her daughter Natalie feel unloved. In this family drama Brian Yorkey shares the pain of loss, the love of a family, the despair of suicide and the extremes of psychiatry as Diana tries to claw her way back to sanity.
