What is the relationship between Claudia and Gordon in the novel, Moon Tiger?

Gordon is Claudia’s brother. He is described as a dashing and intelligent economist, who is Claudia’s alter ego and rival. The siblings have an incestuous relationship during late adolescence that is spurred as much by their genuine interest in each other as by their narcissism. Each sees in the other a reflection of themselves.
