The main conflict surrounds the sinking of the Tsimtsum sinks. Pi’s entire family, the crew, and many animals parish in the ocean. For months, Pi, along with an assorted array of animals, including a Royal Bengal Tiger, are set adrift in the Pacific Ocean.
