Who is the Pang Ayi in the short story collection, Land of Big Number?

Pang Ayi is one of the villagers in the story, New Fruit. She is the only villager who refuses to try the qiguo fruit because it is a cross-bred fruit. She falls in love with Lao Zhu and tells her husband about her feelings, leading him to try and take his own life.
