There is nothing terribly unusual about the language used in this novel. The only aspect of any real significance is the use of some tech phrases that may be unfamiliar to the average reader. For instance, there is a discussion about being paid in Bitcoin, which is a worldwide currency system. Gwen and Sam go through a number of disposable cell phones trying to keep Melvin and his goons from being able to track them. At one point Gwen mentions a device called an anonymizer that is used to make someone’s traffic on the Internet untraceable. When Lanny calls Kezia from FaceTime on the computer she finds in the derelict cabin, there is a discussion of the way this call can be triangulated to pinpoint Lanny’s location.
